Locum Appointment for Training (LAT) or Locum Appointment for Service (LAS) in Paediatrics ST3 +
Fixed term for 6 months
LAT Salary Scale: £31,200 to £49,091
LAS Salary Scale will be determined in accordance with the provision of NHS Circular PCS (DD) 2017/1

We welcome applications from enthusiastic individuals for this Locum Appointment for Training (or Locum Appointment for Service) post at ST3+ to support the Paediatrics department. Based in Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert, which is a state of the art modern Acute Hospital, is available immediately for one year.

The post offers experience in Neonatology and General Paediatrics, which would include responsibility for assessment and treatment at middle grade level on acute paediatric inpatients, neonatal intensive care, and in our short stay assessment area. This post will also allow for exposure to patients managed by our subspecialty teams, which includes Neonatology, Diabetes, Endocrinology, Cystic Fibrosis, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Neurology and Neuro-disability. The successful post holder would be expected to participate in Out of Hours working as part of the established rota.

NHS Forth Valley provides acute services for a population of approximately 310,000 people in Central Scotland. Acute services were centralised onto a single site at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in July 2011. Forth Valley is a particularly attractive area in which to live and work with a wide range of housing, excellent state and private schooling and extensive sport and leisure facilities. Falkirk and Stirling have good motorway and railway links to the nearby centres of both Edinburgh and Glasgow while the Scottish mountains are a short distance to the north.

If appointed to relevant Speciality Training Programme through open competition, documented competences achieved through a Locum Appointment for Training can count towards CCT, or towards a CESR application for those not entering an approved Specialty Training Programme
