Network & Voip Engineer

The person identified for this role will be required to implement and support network and voice installations within a service provider environment, including planning and implementing customer network installations, fault handling and escalations, liaising with third-party suppliers on network issues, network and cabling installations in datacentres and POP sites, voice system design and installation, voice platform monitoring and development and assistance with general network support, security and other related duties.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be presentable with a positive attitude and good pro-active problem solving skills.

Required experience:

  • Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks, including IP routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
  • WAN technologies
  • SIP trunking and call routing
  • Design and implementation of VOIP systems
  • Skills in IP addressing / sub-netting
  • Comfortable working with switches, routers and firewalls
  • Experienced in diagnosing issues from logs and packet captures

Desirable experience:

  • Linux sysadmin skills
  • Virtualisation (HyperV)
  • Skype for business

The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical and interpersonal skills with strong project management capabilities, and be able to demonstrate previous experience in the successful delivery of VoIP and Network installations.

The role is based primarily at the Head Office in Sittingbourne, but also will incorporate on-site working at customer premises and POP sites; a full driving license, your own transportation, and a willingness to travel are therefore prerequisites.
