My client based in the heart of Chelmsford is looking for an experienced payroll assistant to join the team on a permanent, part time basis.

The role will consist of 20 hours ideally spread out Monday- Friday although this can be flexible if necessary.

- Processing own portfolio of client payrolls
- Receipt of client instructions (e.g. basic pay, overtime, sickness, other adjustments etc) and production of periodic (fortnightly, monthly, annual etc.) payroll runs including BACS initiation, distribution of payslips, calculation of PAYE/NI liabilities thereon.
- Posting and maintenance of client payroll records to regulatory standards.
- Processing and submission under RTI of client monthly and annual payroll information
- Reconciliation of wages bank account.
- Processing and payment of employee and employer pension contributions to pension providers as appropriate.
- Administration of workplace pension schemes for clients.
- Dealing with ad-hoc queries and reports.

- At least 1 years payroll experience.
- Ability to calculate payroll manually using HMRC pay tables.
- Accuracy, attention to detail and thoroughness.
