We are currently partnering with a highly regarded and forward thinking Accounting Practice based in Banbury to a recruit a Tax Director for their growing team. With an excellent reputation across the UK for their industry-specific expertise and client orientated approach, and well known as an employer of choice, the business consistently grows at more than 10% each year for the last 20 years.

Reporting to the Partners your responsibilities will include:

  • Being proactive in client service along with responding to client queries, and those from third parties (e.g. HMRC) in a timely manner.

  • Seeking to gain experience and progress the role and those of other staff by seeking to take more advanced work from partners and delegating more routine work to others, thereby aiding cost-effectiveness and adding to interest/ training of all within the section.

  • Developing knowledge of clients and their businesses so as to become the point of contact on day-to-day matters.

  • Reviewing tax work performed by more junior staff. Undertaking staff appraisals and ensuring targets are met. Providing feedback and training as required.

  • Seeking to identify tax planning opportunities, highlighting to partners/ client along with solutions as appropriate.

  • Preparation of necessary reports/ computations etc, liaising with other professional advisers as required.

  • Assisting partners with specific assignments- e.g. tax advisory matters.

  • Assisting partners in controlling WIP within the section by progressing work to completion.

As the right candidate you will have CTA, ACA or ACCA Qualification, Degree or equivalent experience and ideally STEP or equivalent tax qualification as well as knowledge of all personal and capital taxes. You the have the ability to understand and oversee private client tax compliance process within the department ensuring efficiency and accordance with the firm’s procedures and provide reports on private client tax advisory projects. You are a strong networker, resilient, energetic and have strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully developing team members.
