An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Assistant - Purchase Ledger to work for this successful company in Newcastle

Salary is between £18,500 and £21,500 depending on experience

Responsibilities;

  1. Primarily responsible for the monitoring, recording and payment of all purchases made
  2. Responsible for the development and issue of purchase order numbers
  3. Timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices to our agreed terms, ensuring they are all authorised by an appropriate budget holder and that all relevant supporting documentations is provided, e.g. purchase orders and delivery notes
  4. Ensure that all purchase invoices are suitably coded by those responsible prior to entry onto the SAP financial system
  5. Entering purchase invoices and purchase payments onto the SAP financial system
  6. Reconciling supplier (vendor) statements on a monthly basis to the SAP financial system and resolving balancing items with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  7. Management and continuous review of creditor’s ledger, including query resolution, setting up new suppliers, clearing down supplier accounts and investigating any unmatched items
  8. Processing BACS payments and preparing cheques to pay vendors, replenishing float and other bank payments
  9. Assisting with month end procedures including data analysis for journals and generating reports
  10. Reconciling and managing administration
  11. Checking of ATM cash dispenser and replenishing when necessary
  12. Petty cash administration to include claims, replenishing float etc.
  13. Bank and credit card reconciliation
  14. Archive documentation
  15. Assist other members of the finance team as required
  16. To undertake training as and when required
  17. To uphold environmental and wider corporate social responsibility practices.

Skills required;

  1. Previous Purchase Ledger Experience working in a fast paced environment
  2. Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  3. Good Organisational skills
  4. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
