New Year-New opportunity, Omega have an excellent permanent opportunity to join a Global manufacturing Business within the Food industry. This is a Technical role, The vacancy is for a multi skilled lead process operative. We are looking for a candidate who will be able to operate the production process and equipment for the manufacture of the food product. Providing first line technical support on both the product and the process and perform first line maintenance. As a Lead Operator you will also provide full support/cover for the Shift Team Leader, for a team consisting of up to 9 staff members

Principal Accountabilities

*Operation of Process equipment e.g. refiners, conches, RM Big bag system, depositors
*Operation of the Automated Control System
*QC sampling and inspection of WIP and finished product
*Palletised stock control including; receipt, picking, line feeding and dispatch
*Offloading bulk raw material tankers and loading bulk finished product tankers
*Provide technical expertise for both the product and the manufacturing process
*Ensure adherence to all Process parameters and Product specifications, ensuring appropriate corrective actions to all alarms and deviations
*First line maintenance and asset care for Production equipment
*Complete Internal audits e.g. VBS, Process Control, GMP and 5S
*Maintain Food safety and hygiene standards in the factory

To be considered for this role:

*Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment ideally food or related industries, candidates from a Chemical/Pharmaceutical process environment will be considered
*Hands on experience of operating process equipment and automated process control systems
*Experience of providing quality control on the finished product
*Food safety qualifications would be an advantage e.g. Foundation food hygiene certificate, HACCP (level2)
*Problem solving techniques and LEAN manufacturing skills
*Experience of safety systems
*Good IT Skills
*Ability to multi task in a high pressure environment
You will be required to work a 3 shift pattern and be flexible for additional hours, for needs of the Business. There will be some weekend work-paid at an enhanced rate
