Client

My client a leading investment bank with operations all over the globe is currently recruiting for an Automation designer to join them on a permanent basis in London. You'll be joining the Global Technology Infrastructure Services team, based in EMEA, US, and APAC. They're accountable for delivering and supporting resilient, secure infrastructure technology and services to customers, clients and colleagues.

Skills

* University degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Networks, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical subject
* Good understanding of IP networking, datacenter networking, SDN, NFV, network security, networking in virtualised environments including Public Cloud (especially AWS), Openstack, Containers, Vmware vSpher
* Knowledge of software development, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code methodologies, using the banks standard languages and tools: GIT, Jenkins, Stash, Python, Linux scripting, Terraform, Chef
* Appreciation of a wide range of enterprise IT system architectures and components (databases, messaging, storage, authentication systems etc).

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of orchestration systems such as Cisco NSO and languages such as YANG, and network automation tools such as Ansible
* Actively collaborates with others across organizational boundaries or regional borders in pursuit of common goals
* Creatively develops business opportunities (e.g. improvements to systems and processes) with new products and ideas.
* AWS certification

Responsibilities

* Create and maintain strong relationships with your stakeholder network, ensuring automated solutions are relevant and meet the required outcomes
* Continually assess market capabilities and industry best practices to ensure the bank is adopting the most relevant approaches to automation
* Contribute to the definition of the target architecture for network automation within the bank, gaining approval across your stakeholder community, including the group CTO.
* Contribute to development and prioritisation of the roadmap for network automation
* Subject Matter Expert in multiple network technologies and working knowledge across all other network and wider IT technologies utilized by the bank.
* Ensure automated solutions comply to all relevant security, compliance and audit policies and regulations
* Proactively engage key stakeholders and end users to receive feedback and ensure requirements and expectations are properly met. Key stakeholders will include:

* Network Product Management
* Business Units & Customers
* Regulatory and Control teams
* Security & Audit
* Vendors & Suppliers
* Group CTO

* Be an advocate and evangelist for network automation across the organisation, proactively engaging to inform and educate.
