JM18921 - Rheumatology Outpatient Department Staff Nurse - Temporary
The Department of Rheumatology provides specialist management for bone and joint disease in Grampian and consists of an Out Patient Department including a DXA Bone Scanning Service and a Day Case Unit. Our very busy service operates Monday to Friday. We undertake a number of nurse led clinics and the Day Case Unit also undertakes a range of infusion therapies to treat patients. We work closely as a multi-disciplinary team in order to meet the complex needs of our service users with a variety of long-term conditions.
Due to current staff maternity leave we are looking for a bright, motivated, hard working and enthusiastic Band 5 trained nurse to join our friendly team to work across our service which operates Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will have an interest in Rheumatology or long term disease management and be willing to develop themselves and the department as part of a team to meet the ongoing needs of our patient service.
At the present time, this is a temporary post to cover maternity leave but it is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and skills in infusion therapy and the care of patients with long term conditions.
Good communication and organisational skills along with the desire or proven ability to provide a good standard of care and to prioritise a workload is essential. A willingness to be flexible across the week and adaptable to develop our future service is essential. Motivation and enthusiasm to undertake new and specialist skills/procedures, such as venepuncture, cannulation, supporting both patient education and assessment and infusion therapies are also required. Previous experience in infusion therapy, outpatient clinics or long term conditions would be advantageous.
N.B. Interviews date to be confirmed.
If you think this interesting and challenging post is of interest to you we welcome and encourage informal visits to the department. Informal enquiries are also welcome. We look forward to hearing from you.
