Online Trading Manager
Macildowie Marketing are currently recruiting for an experienced Online Trading Manager to join a well known brand located in Northamptonshire.
The Online Trading Manager will be responsible for implementing and delivering the online range and merchandising strategy for specific categories in order to maximise customer experience, sales and profit. This will be across online and associated channels such as click & collect, supplier direct and home delivery.
eCommerce is a relatively new discipline within this organisation and the role holder will be required to simultaneously define and create the online product offering. This will be achieved by engaging stakeholders and colleagues who are widely experienced in traditional merchanting channels, but less experienced in multichannel delivery and management.
Range, Merchandising & Pricing
-Deliver a relevant and engaging online product experience, and the optimum user journey
-Maintain a thorough understanding of the target customer base and market
-Review competitive websites to evaluate site merchandise, promotional tactics, customer experience, and product presentation and translate findings into executable, cohesive online & offline merchandising calendars
-Assist with sales catalogue management and maintenance
-Execute Category plans via effective online merchandising of product and rich content, and cross channel digital marketing campaigns
-Monitor & analyse performance of results (online & offline), and report & feedback to ensure that range evolves alongside customer needs
-Evolve and make on-site search & navigation efficient, commercially productive and ensure customers achieve the best on-site product experience
-Understand the pricing strategy and architecture and support the delivery of this online
Marketing and Communication
-Working closely with Commercial & Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales to create implement and deliver online promotions to achieve strategic sales & margin objectives
-Work closely with Marketing and commercial teams to manage supplier joint sales and marketing initiatives online, ensuring compliance with any commercial agreements
-Monitor & analyse customer purchasing patterns & behaviours (online and offline), and market share relating to key product categories
-Understand suppliers new product development, promotional and marketing plans, and select those products and promotions relevant to the key customer segments
-Co-ordinate end to end operational planning to support promotions (ie inventory planning, exit strategy)
-Ensure all stakeholders are appropriately engaged, involved and informed at all times. It is essential that strong and collaborative relationships are built with commercial, marketing, supply chain, finance etc
This position would suit someone with a commercial track record in planning and implementation for merchandising, pricing, marketing and communications and operations ideally within a B2B environment. You must be confident working with a network of stakeholders around a large organisation and working with commercial and operational data in complex legacy systems. You will have hands on knowledge and experience of reporting / analysis, working with complex data sets / projects and developing customer value propositions. A wider understanding of digital and content marketing and project management would also be highly beneficial.
