Delegated Authority Technician - Insurance

The Delegated Authority Technician will be responsible for the management of various delegated/binding authorities and lineslips and report directly to the managing director. Our client is a specialist delegated authority and IT support provider to the insurance market.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Pre & post contract checks on coverholders, binders and lineslips to ensure that they are in line with Delegated Authority policy.
  • Oversee ongoing due diligence of coverholders, brokers - including chasing brokers, coverholders and relevant TOBA's and contracts.
  • Oversee new coverholder approvals and applications.
  • Manage DA and lineslip renewals
  • Conduct risk coverholder Segmentation reviews.
  • Draft delegated authority agreements, direct dealing contracts & any endorsements as and when required/requested.
  • Ongoing development of delegated authority framework.
  • Collation of coverholder packs and administrative reporting for Insurers and the board.
  • Assessment of coverholder policy and procedures.
  • Assist in the management of the internal process manual for technical area of DA
  • Liaise with outsource partners and insurers and undertake peer reviews when required/requested.
  • Provide assistance to underwriters as required in relation to other aspects of delegated authority including technical advice, coverholder approval and binding authority audit reviews.
  • Scoping and review of audits for existing coverholders.
  • Manage and maintain the TOBA and contract process for brokers.
  • Collection and collation of bordereaux and payments from brokers.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of delegated authority practices
  • General insurance knowledge
  • Experience of drafting and checking binding authority contracts
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to hit the ground running

Salary:

£20,000 to £30,000 plus benefits depending on experience.
