Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice plays an important role in changing the way children and their families are supported. Our vision is for a world in which children and young people no longer face life-shortening conditions. And, until that day comes, our mission will always be to offer them, and their families, as much support, love and laughter as they can handle. We’re also determined to transform the world of children’s hospices. We’re tearing up the old rulebooks by taking a fresh and creative look at the way things are done. Furthermore, we simply don’t believe in ‘can’t’. We only ever say ‘yes’!

As a Shop Manager reporting to our Retail Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading, motivating and inspiring your Assistant Manager and team of Volunteers to maximise profit and exceed KPI targets. Driving first-class customer service across all areas of the in-store operation, you’ll ensure that all hospice and retail policies and procedures are complied with and that the appropriate standards of security, health & safety and basic store standards are in place at all times. Other key accountabilities include:
• developing and implementing effective stock processing systems
• attract high-quality donations
• creative merchandising
• creating and delivering an annual promotions calendar
• acting as the Hospice’s ambassador in the local community.

An excellent organiser with the ability to oversee a number of complex operations and the confidence to lead your team, you’re a first-class all-round communicator with the ability to motivate and influence, underpinned by great customer-facing skills. You’re also a strong team player, able to work hands-on across any of the in-store functions, and IT-literate, especially in MS Office. Aware of trends and fashions considering seasonal promotions, you can also offer:
• excellent standards of record-keeping, both written and computerised
• the ability to work flexible, frequently unsocial hours
• sound health & safety awareness.

37.5 hours weekly with some evening and weekend hours
