Java Application Security Engineer

If you're an experienced Application Security expert, looking for a hands-on role that will see you work on numerous exciting projects and hold responsibility for the security of a number of principal applications then this may be the role for you! Our client are a large gaming organisation, looking for a talented individual to join their team and provide security guidance to their development team, enforcing relevant policies and procedures.

The chosen candidate will identify security risks and requirements within system developments and new projects, and work closely with the development team to check and ensure coding is secure. You will also oversee and perform security testing; developing plans and integrating them into the SDLC, assisting in setting up static testing tools and managing the remediation of any risks detected.

Additionally, you will maintain your general knowledge and awareness of trends and threats circulating, as well as participating in systems designs, and ensuring the use of appropriate security policies and technologies. You may also be required to train developers on these practices.

To be considered for the role, you will need the following skills and/or experience:

  • At least 2 years' experience working in a similar application security role

  • A background in software development (including security related software)

  • A strong understanding of Java and web Scripting languages/framework

  • Experience in secure coding practices and methodologies

  • Ability to perform application security testing

  • Hold a strong understanding of software security vulnerabilities

  • Experience with automated security testing tools

  • Experience writing reports on debugged issues.
