Job Description
We have an opportunity for an experienced self-motivated engineer to analyse and assess the Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RM&T) of our new products and product upgrades. Working within a multidiscipline Integrated Product Team (IPT) and supported by a Lead Supportability Engineer, you will be responsible for providing guidance and advice to the design engineers on the Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RM&T) characteristics of Radar or Laser/Electro-optical products, identifying any potential safety risks to the Product Safety Engineer.

You will be working closely with engineers spanning a number of different disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, optical, laser, RF, microwave, software and systems, to ensure that product supportability is designed in from the concept and early design phases. Beyond the initial design and development phases of the product life cycle, you will be using product RM&T characteristics to verify that the equipment specification requirements have been met, and to feed into spares and repairs models and to develop support resource requirements for the in-service products.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

Degree in relevant discipline (ideally including some element of Electronic Engineering)
Knowledge of RM&T assessment and modelling techniques on electronic, optical, mechanical and mixed technology systems
Able to perform Reliability Analysis from component level to full systems level assessment
Knowledge of Maintenance Task Analysis and Reliability Centred Maintenance
Generation and development of Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and linkage to the test solution
Working knowledge and experience of Hazard Identification and Safety Management processes
Knowledge of Reliability Hardware Test Techniques and Planning
Understanding of Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Processes
Experience of consolidating and presenting design related analysis as part of the design review process
Confidence to represent a compelling argument to the design team in order to ensure RM&T is a key consideration in the design of our products
