EHS Associate - Environmental Health & Safety

This position is a 12 month project working within a global pharmaceutical company in London. It is a key strategic role which requires an EHS expert to collaborate across multiple sites and countries throughout the EMEA region business critical projects within EH&S. The role is all about harmonising a global EHS framework, whilst also understanding the subtleties in different countries when it comes to Health and Safety.

Salary & Benefits:

£240 per day. 12 month project with a strong likelihood of extension.

Role and responsibilities:

*Working closely with the EMEA EHS Manager, you will be responsible for the establishment of an EHS programme which represents the entire EMEA region, and is in line with the company's global legislation.
*You will manage the site gap analysis and risk assessment activity, as well as SOP development, staff training and site visit scheduling.
*Coordination and management of a working EHS system for all risk related activity.
*Ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across all of the EMEA sites with regard to EHS guidelines.
*Oversee updating of EHS SOPs across the region
*Implementing an online assessment tool for several major sites across Europe
*Introduce refresher training on all EHS matters for each site across the region
*Drive a culture of improved Health & Safety throughout the sites, and promote EHS initiatives.

Requires skills and qualifications:

*4+ years' experience in EHS roles, especially with a strategic focus
*Ideally EHS experience in a pharmaceutical, multinational capacity
*NEBOSH Certificate (NEBOSH Diploma would be preferred)
*Fluent English, any additional languages across Europe would be very much appreciated
*Excellent communication skills - change management across different cultures

This position is looking for a January start, interviews will be taking place before Christmas. It is offering a very interesting project with a leading company in the biopharma field, and will be a project that has a clear plan, with visible progress points throughout.
