Through significant growth, two new opportunities have opened up to join the Technical Services Department: One to join the Development team and another to join the Project team (see different advert).
As Application Specialist within the Development team, you will be supporting clinical systems (assays and analyser) and providing frontline technical applications. Working with product designers, you will be involved in project investigations (practical testing with analysers ), validating and de-bugging software, issuing reports on product performance etc. This role requires minimal travel.
The role will involve:
*Problem solving and analytical skills to investigate and resolve customer complaints and enquiries
*Supporting and advising Sales, Marketing and Technical Specialists to identify risk and resolve case investigations.
*Create and maintain technical support literature and training materials
*Develop and maintain good working and customer relationships both nationally and internationally.
*Excellent communication skills keeping supervisor(s) and project managers advised of issues and support needs
*To be able to lead and contribute in technical discussions with all levels of personnel, third party suppliers and customers.
*Research, analyse, evaluate and make recommendations for continuous improvements to specifications and applications procedures.
You will require:
*A relevant scientific degree (or equivalent) or fully trained Applications Technician
*Trained in Clinical Laboratory procedures or technical customer service and support experience
*Full driving license
*Good written and presentation skills.
*Knowledge of Biochemistry instrumentation or knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures.
*Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
*The ability to problem solve and analyse data
*Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
*The ability to use own initiative as well as work within a team.
*Approachable and positive attitude.
Ideally (but not essential) you will offer:
*Clinical immunology or pathology based degree.
*Knowledge / work experience in an Immunology/Biochemistry.
*Handling of immunodiagnostic products
*Knowledge of Nephlometers/Turbidimetric systems.
*Awareness of cultural and linguistic differences when dealing with international clients.
*A 2nd language: French, German, Spanish, Italian or other European.
*Working knowledge of case investigations.
