Service and Commissioning Engineer

Field Based - Covering South of England

£23,000-£29,000 depending on experience

Our client based in Stevenage is looking for an engineer with a Mechanical and Electrical background to join their team looking after UK-Wide contracts.

They are a leading worldwide manufacturer and distributor of incinerator equipment. Working on cremators and Mercury abatement (flue gas cleaning treatment)


- To work on Incinerators and Mercury abatement systems

- Routine Servicing

- Cabling on site

- Tests of all the electrical devices

- Commissioning, staring up and hand over the installation

- Supervise emission tests.

- Design and read technical electrical drawings

- Call out and/or remote control from Monday 8.00 am to Saturday 6pm.

- Repairs and proactive Maintenance on cremators and Mercury abatement (flue gas cleaning treatment)

- Establish relationships with existing and new customers.

- Basic mechanical work (welding, cutting, etc an advantage)

- Programming of PLC systems

- Commissioning, servicing and handling installations

- Mechanical installation

UK based position. Covering the South of England

Background :

2 years degree in electrical and Control systems preferred but not essential

Commercial Gas safe an avantage but not essential


Basic salary : £23 000-£29 000 /year + bonus + van+ mobile + laptop

Progression :

Promotion opportunities

Annual Salary increasing according to work efficiency.


Work Location:

UK- Mid/South of England but Further may be required at times

The ideal canididate will have:

- Degree in Mechanical, Software or Electrical engineering

- Experience in electrical control systems

- Experience in programming PLC systems

- Previous basic mechanical experience- welding, cutting etc

- Full UK Clean driving license

- Previous on call experience

- Ability to navigate on long distance journeys

The position is primarily field based with the successful candidate spending 90% of working hours on the road and 10% in the office.
