DevOps Engineer (Application Migration)

Reading or REMOTE working

Contract Opportunity

£500 - £600 a day

Start date - ASAP

I am currently looking for a DevOps Engineer, with demonstrable experience in Application Migration, to join my client's team based in Reading. This will be consultative work, so there will be elements of travelling to client site, and remote working. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for DevOps and Automation, but who also wants to work with the latest and greatest technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be advising clients on the design policy around technology migrations, e.g SVN to Git
  • Designing test pipelines for applications in OpenShift as well as integration with existing test pipelines
  • Containerising existing applications
  • Adapting applications to integrate and utilise Kubernetes/Openshift

Skills and requirements:

  • Hands on experience with Red Hat Openshift
  • Strong experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Linux experience, hands on with a great working knowledge of networking
  • Scripting with BASH, Python and Ruby
  • Solid experience with Automation techniques and DevOps process
  • Experience with configuration management and monitoring tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef etc)
  • Working knowledge of Jenkins
  • Strong experience with Cloud Architectures - AWS
