Ethernet Fibre install - BT Openreach

We are looking for engineers in Scotland (must be willing to work and travel around North Scotland), North West and London and surrounding areas.

Tooling, PPE and Van provided.

Pay Rates:

Lead Hand £190 (i.e. experienced no training required)

Mate £100

Engineers can opt to split the rate £145 each is desired

We are currently resourcing experienced Fibre and Copper Telecoms Engineers and Jointers Mates to carry out, cabling, fibre blowing, splicing and testing work from the End Users premise on a sub-contracting basis for a national contract. This may involve working in teams of up to 2 people. We are also looking for experienced Copper jointers.

Provision is completed by planned works to customers, this includes a fibre connection from the telephone exchange to the customers' termination point

The process can include exchange inter switching connection to an external fibre node, installation of blown fibre, customer internal cabling and fitting of equipment e.g. Blown fibre gas seal internal customer termination boxes and termination trays including fibre connectors

All works must be end to end tested and the correct format of test results must be supplied.

The work for this particular contract may require you to work at heights, using harnesses ladders or elevating platform, MEWPS, working within roadside joint locations and working in customers' premises.

You will be willing to work in all weather conditions. Foul weather PPE will be supplied along with a vehicle, tools and the equipment required to complete every job safely and to the highest standards.

Customer satisfaction is key aspect of any work you will carry out and first impressions count. You will need to be customer focused, polite and well-presented.

Be prepared to work away from home to meet operational requirements if needed
Be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions
Visit and work within customer's premises
Ability to work alone using your own initiative
Be highly motivated with attention to detail
After training, work using hand held testing equipment and PDA tablets etc.
Be flexible with regard to working hours as you are will ultimately be paid on a job completion and appointment completion basis
If required, be prepared to work weekends (normally Saturdays if needed)
Attend accredited training courses if required
Be computer literate and after training be able to understand network plans.


Be prepared to undergo a DBS check (formally CRB).
Full UK driving license held for a minimum of 12 months.
Well presented
Excellent customer service skills.
Previous experience of similar fibre work
Desirable - Recognised fibre training accreditation equivalent to C&G 3666-02, C&G 3366-04 or experience of fibre blowing/splicing/testing.
Desirable - Civil duct laying experience together with NRWSA accreditation only required for some cablers mates positions.
