West Midlands Fire Service is a professional and critical part of the UK emergency services, working for us means you have a mission in your work. We are looking for a Sharepoint Developer to work within HQ on a number of important national projects. Working within the National Fire Chiefs Council and Fire Services, you will be responsible for developing new Intranets, workflows and systems to support the service with information flow using Sharepoint Online and Powershell. The developer will work alongside a Sharepoint Administrator within the Birmingham HQ but will also potentially travel out to other sites from time to time.

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Acting as a lead developer for a large Sharepoint farm
  • Strong specialist skills in Sharepoint online design and development
  • Managing the backlog of requests/activities and ensure they are prioritised correctly and internal customers kept informed of delivery timescales
  • Configuring/Building Workflow Management using SP Designer and Microsoft Flow
  • Understanding of Office 365
  • Work with the support organisation to ensure that Intranet is kept up and running and that search engines and feeds all work as required
  • Ability to self manage work load

Key Technical Skills required:

  • .NET Development (C#) / TypeScript
  • Strong Experience in using JavaScript frameworks (JQuery/ node.JS/ TypeScript)
  • Strong Experience in UI/UX design using CSS / HTML
  • Strong Experience Scripting using PowerShell / PNP / CSOM
  • Strong Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) / Client Side Object Model
  • Experience in VisualStudio
  • Experience working with WebJobs in Azure
  • Experience in working with O365 (Groups/Teams/Flow/Yammer/Delve and Enterprise Search)
