IT / Infrastructure Support Analyst £28,000 plus bens Central Bristol

Reporting to the senior infrastructure manager and working as part of the Support and Infrastructure Team, the Infrastructure Support Analyst is a technical person who is responsible all internal operational activities across a global multi-site environment. Day-to-day activities range from system administration to new service implementations and dealing with 1st and 2nd line technical support queries.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To provide 1st/2nd line technical support; answering support queries via ticketing system, phone, email or at desk side
  • Design Maintain and build production Amazon Web Services infrastructure
  • To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and maintain a professional service management approach
  • To take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues
  • Respond to enquiries from employees and help them resolve any hardware and/or software problems
  • Maintain a log of any software or hardware problems detected
  • Support users in the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice
  • Managing and Administering a Microsoft AD environment across multiple sites
  • Exchange Organisation Administration and Support
  • Windows Server OS Support
  • VM Ware support and administration of the internal Virtual Cloud Platform
  • Backup & Recovery Operations and Planning including Restore testing
  • Act as a resource or lead as required in the planning, management and implementation of system operations and processes
  • Act as 3rd line support for production systems and applications - liaising with external support organisations as and when required
  • Create and optimise processes for everyday operational activities and deployed enterprise applications for use by other teams or team members
  • Providing in-depth technical expertise for both project and operational initiatives
  • Take part in IT continuous improvement programs within enterprise guidelines
  • Along with the team - managing the migration to new technologies
  • Gathering the requirements and designing solutions, you will develop and execute project plans for technical implementations, new applications, technology migration projects, site commissioning or infrastructure upgrades for the business as required
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant (where applied) standards and security guidelines

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

The ideal candidate will have some background in a 1st or 2nd line support role supporting Windows desktop and server, with a good knowledge of Active Directory.

  • 1st / 2nd and 3rd Line Technical Support
  • AWS (Amazon Web Services)
  • Some kind of SAAS knowledge beneficial
  • Windows Desktop 7, 8 and 10
  • Server 2008R2, 2012 and 2016
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Resolving calls with 1st time fix
  • Mini Projects to be undertaken from time to time
  • Pro-active and flexible
  • Two + Years working in a ITIL environment
  • Professional qualifications such as MCTS, compTIA certs or CCMA
