Hugely successful digital agency and Times Top 100 Employer are looking for their first Android Developer to join their 10 strong digital development team in Bristol.  You’ll be working closely with their Senior IOS Developer to build apps for some of the world’s biggest brands in a supportive environment without managers where you can pick your hours and learn new skills.

What skills you'll need

Core experience should encompass using Android SDK, RESTful API’s, Android UI design principles, patterns and best practices.  You’ll have live apps within the Play store ideally and a natural interest in picking up the latest mobile technologies and development techniques.  Any experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning would be great, as would the ability to design applications around natural user interfaces and additional sensors (like gyroscopes and accelerometers).  Within the role they’d expect you to have a familiarity with unit testing and continuous integration as well as a proficiency with GIT.

What you'll be doing

Within your role developing awesome apps, you’ll be translating designs and wireframes into high quality interfaces and devising the architecture and best approach for Android app development.  You’ll be designing, building and maintaining high performance, reusable and reliable Java code and identifying and fixing bottlenecks, bugs and reviewing any crashes.  You will be called upon to attend client meetings and give regular updates on progress and also any industry events.  There’s a good opportunity to review and improve mobile development processes as the team grows too.

What you'll get in return for your talents

In return for your excellent Android skills you will be rewarded with an excellent package (to £36k), annual improvements and unrivalled freedom in the workplace – with R & D time, flexible hours (pick your own, seriously!) and no manager looking over your shoulder constantly you really get the chance to be creative and run with your own ideas. All of this in a brilliantly social environment, there’s regular away days, trips, socials and lots of free cake, Friday beers and more - they’re keen to ensure they have a happy office full of happy people.
