Title: Factory Manager

Site: Tipton

We know about food!

Tulip Ltd is the UK's leading food solutions business, supplying all major food retailers, wholesalers and foodservice companies with a wide range of quality products. We provide consumers with a comprehensive range of products in four key mega-categories - fresh meat & sausage, bacon & gammon, cooked meat, and convenience & snacking. Our farm-to-fork operation is unique in the industry, while our strategic framework puts customers, product, efficiency and people at the heart of everything we do, all with a view to growing responsibly. As part of the Danish Crown Group, the largest pork provider in Europe and the biggest exporter of pork in the world, Tulip Ltd is well-placed to deliver its ambitious plans for sustainable growth. If you have an appetite for more, this could be the role for you.

We are currently seeking a Factory Manager to oversee the production area of the factory where we manufacture products for our major retailer customers at our site in Tipton, West Midlands.

The role will require a good understanding of high speed production lines and managing high numbers of personnel to ensure that the production plan is delivered. Quality, GMP, giveaway, yields, p/kg and throughput are all Key Performance Indicators for the shift, which will need to be managed on a daily basis. There will be high engagement from all other support' functions to ensure that the plan is delivered on time and in full.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of yields (getting the best from the primal), experience of managing people and achieving results against strict timescales. You will be confident with dealing with large teams and interacting with peers from other departments and be confident on audits. A good understanding of technical procedures, GMP and housekeeping standards are essential, in addition to being able to communicate effectively and be able to identify the root cause of problems (e.g. downtime) and have the ability to put together and deliver the required corrective actions to resolve. Must have a flexible approach to working.

Our ideal candidate will have an operational background in the meat industry with experience of similar roles in this sector. Cooked meats / chilled food experience as a minimum and butchery experience / skills would be a distinct advantage, as this site is one of the largest butchery sites in our group.
