IT Infrastructure Manager


Working for a mid-sized IT Software Vendor / Service Provider you’ll work collaboratively within a small and friendly IT / Service Desk team to provide IT support to circa 100 end users spread across several sites internationally.

Reporting directly to the Head of IT this is an excellent opportunity to work with a whole host of technology and deliver change. The role requires, general day-to-day support the opportunity to drive project work forward and use modern,
progressive technology.

The IT infrastructure manager will manage a small team of Administrators, Service Desk professionals, take day to day responsibility for the business infrastructure and infrastructure projects.

What you'll do:

  • Act as a single point of escalation for all IT infrastructure and support
  • Provide 1st – 4th line support for circa 100 users.
  • Manage all Infrastructure change and the service desk team
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service and take responsibility / ownership for support queries from start to finish, escalating if necessary
  • Publish support documentation / knowledge base articles to assist staff with requests for information and provide staff training if required
  • Manage and deliver all IT Infrastructure Project Work
  • Work with the Head of IT to progress the IT infrastructure and support the needs of the software development functions within the business

You'll need experience of:

  • Administering Microsoft Windows Server based Infrastructure (ideally MS Server 2012 R2)
  • Supporting a Windows Desktop Environment (07-10)
  • Active Directory knowledge and implementation
  • Supporting/administering Office 365 (or earlier Exchange)
  • Linux administration
  • Backup and recovery software
  • Working with file and folder permissions and general Windows Endpoint Security (VPN, Antivirus, Encryption, MDM, etc.)
  • Networking; LAN/Wan/VPN and security devices
  • Patching systems (MS patches and rebooting etc.)
  • Cloud platforms; AWS or Azure preferred
  • SQL Server
  • Project and people management or team leadership
  • Ideally you will also have some exposure to software development – Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence
