Our client provides the best possible residential care for children.
As a part of this care, they also provide education across the primary and secondary curriculum. We seek to appoint a full time class teacher with a specialism of either maths or English, and the ability to design and teach a full curriculum on a 1:1 basis to children in care with EBD and LD.

Are you QTS qualified?
Do you have experience in teaching primary students?
Are you interested in working with Children and Young People with Challenging Behaviours?

Duties will include:

To teach your specialist subject to students in small groups or 1 to 1 situations.

To develop, monitor, evaluate and update scheme of work for your specialist subject through discussion with other users.

To assist other subject specialists in the reviewing of their schemes of work.

To administer, mark and record regular tests on student progress.

To monitor and update student record files.

To set homework where appropriate

To mark class work and homework in your given specialism and in other subjects under the guidance of those subject specialists and support others who do this for your subject.

To provide consistent and effective teaching in line with the requirements and responsibilities of your role.

To report and monitor attendance and absence daily, using the school's recording system

To undertake observations of the students and write pupil records such as IEPs, Reports and weekly evaluations

To supervise the work of any Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors in the Home

To undertake specific administrative tasks as requested by the Head Teacher

To apply the school's behaviour management policy and report any difficulties to the Head Teacher and Home Manager.

To attend Education team meetings to contribute to the discussions about individual pupils, school development and whole school issues.
