What will the role involve?

You will effectively manage water production asset operations and reliability to ensure environmental and regulatory compliance.

You will provide technical support and reactive Asset Management to the Product & Process Team to ensure that the team meets and exceeds its targets and critical business performance measures. You will ensure excellent operation of water production assets and that any high profile risks to the company are managed and mitigated. Operational assets in this area are vital to achieving business critical performance measures for Water Production, including safety, compliance, energy and OPEX expenditure. You will also provide technical support in the management of incidents and 'near misses' relating to all assets and also ensuring environmental risks and hazards are managed on all sites.

You will ensure that all activity on the asset base is completed in accordance with all Yorkshire Water's Health and Safety policies e.g. Control of Work, Risk Assessments, Site inductions etc. You will ensure operational and hazard mitigation plans are in place and submit robust risk based Business Cases for both Opex and Capex expenditure as required to meet operational delivery. You will also conduct Water Quality and safety audits across the production assets delivering outcomes and improvement plans.

You will work with the Process and Plant Engineers to plan, organise and manage complex operational activities on the sites to ensure both reactive and proactive workload is delivered safely and optimally. You will also provide technical support, guidance and asset management principles to operational roles in their delivery of the operational management of the asset base.

You will also support the Product and Process Manager with day to day management of Production Assets and Team. This may include internal, external audits, management of team Hubs, the CRMT (Company Risk Management Team) attendance and providing cover for the Product and Process Manager as and when required.

Operational standby is a requirement of this role, once fully trained.

What skills are we looking for?

It is essential that you can develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships alongside a solid understanding of Water Treatment production processes. This is both from an operational, investment and engineering perspective.

You will be analytical and have the ability to fault find on treatment processes. You will have experience with incident management and asset failure recovery. It is also essential that you have rigorous attention to detail to ensure 'right first time performance', you are proficient in the use of IT systems and have knowledge of risk policies and processes.

It is desirable that you have previous experience in a commercial orientated and/or regulated environment and previous experience gained within the water or waste water sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.

As this role requires frequent travel a full valid EU driving licence is essential.
