Global IT Infrastructure Manager

The Role

The Global IT Infrastructure Services Manager is responsible for the operation and strategic development of common global Data Centre Infrastructure Services. This is a global role operating in a multi-sourced organisation managing the IT infrastructure that underpins new global applications. The role reports to the Global Head of IT Networks and will work closely with the Head of Global Applications and regional IT Service Delivery Managers.

Whilst the role is UK based, as part of a global organisation there is a 24 hour a day operation and candidates will need to be flexible and able to work out of hours if required and act as an escalation point. As well as working across our UK-based locations, International travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a multi-sourced, multi-skilled team, that is geographically spread
  • Build and leverage strategic relationships with key 3rd party suppliers
  • Effective management of 3rd party outsource agreements ensuring performance, quality, reliability and cost effectiveness
  • Ensure services meet their SLA targets and the expectations of the Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF) business
  • Design and deploy appropriate governance processes to both manage performance and ensure compliance with all IT policies and frameworks
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of technologies and services deployed within the organisation and by reviewing industry trends and market developments ensure that NRF is able to exploit the benefits of new technologies
  • Lead and support the optimisation and consolidation of technologies, services and suppliers on a regional and global basis as appropriate
  • Provide a level of technical expertise and consultation at various management levels across the organisation

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience of managing a global IT Data Centre
  • Proven experience of managing supplier performance in a global outsourced IT Data Centre
  • Strong planning, communications, and stakeholder management experience
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to build and leverage strong relationships with 3rd parties
  • Budgetary experience coupled with demonstrable commercial awareness
  • Experience of large scale infrastructure change, business change, integration or merger an advantage
  • In-depth technical knowledge of: HP Superdome; HP BladeSystem; HP 3Par; EMC; Linux; Windows Server; IIS; VMware; SRM; Veeam; Backup Exec;
  • Advanced knowledge of: Converged Systems; SAP infrastructure

  • Demonstrable ability to build trust and strong cross-functional relationships at all levels across a global organisation to achieve common goals
  • Ability to mobilise, manage, and motivate a globally distributed multi-sourced team within an organisation that is experiencing consistent growth and change
  • Strategic acumen and problem solving skills with the ability to turn findings into executable plans
