Electronics Test Engineer

Location: Bristol

Salary: £25-28k per annum

We are a leading global developer and supplier of test equipment used by utility companies to help install, protect and maintain their infrastructure networks and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join us at our head office in Bristol. The primary function of this role is to investigate and solve test failures on mechanical and electrical products.

About the Electronics Test Engineer:

  • Responsibility for investigating and solving test failures on production PCBs, sub-assemblies and finished mechanical and electrical products
  • Testing, repair and maintenance of test rigs, test platforms and associated production equipment
  • Development of new test specifications and test equipment
  • Working as part of the team to establish the validation parameters for new and existing products
  • Reporting and documenting failure trends, support the analysis of trends, propose and implement robust corrective actions
  • Working closely and supporting other teams, especially engineering and quality
  • Undertaking and contributing to the successful delivery of improvement projects, departmental and company-wide.
  • Writing technical instructions, process instructions, technical reports and test methods

Requirements of the Electronics Test Engineer:

  • Minimum BTEC (HNC) qualification or equivalent experience in electronics engineering
  • High degree of computer literacy ideally with experience of MRP systems
  • Proven diagnostic and problem solving skills abilities
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environment, specifically low volume, high complexity production
  • Ability to share information effectively, guide and train others
  • Attention to detail, flexibility and ability to collaborate with others
  • Ability to work and learn in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous improvement
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement techniques is desirable
