A top 30 University based in Surrey are looking to recruit a Head of Internal Communications to develop and lead a team to hit the University's strategic goals.

Our client is a Top 30 University based in Surrey. They are easily accessible from Waterloo within 35 minutes or via the M25/M4 driving with excellent parking facilities.

Description

The Head of Internal Communications will be responsible for developing and delivering an engaging internal communications strategy for a diverse audience of students, academic departments and professional service colleagues. The strategy will ensure the continued development of channels that provide two-way engagement, so that internal audiences can share their stories, be actively consulted on change projects and have reasons to feel proud about being part of the University.

The Head of Internal Communications will lead a talented team of four across student communications, employability and student voice, and staff communications. You will also be responsible for leading on change management and work closely with senior stakeholders including the Principal to drive engagement across the University.

Profile

The successful candidate will be an experience communications professional who has lead an internal communications function previously. You will need to have extensive experience in planning and delivering successful communication strategies and supporting plans, ideally with a focus on internal engagement. You must also be able to demonstrate the ability to develop, deliver and lead change communication programmes.

You will be an experienced team manager with a proven track record of line managing a high performing team. Experience of providing communications guidance and counsel to senior managers, including drafting presentations and being a trusted advisor. Good planning and writing skills are essential to this role.

Whilst HE experience would be beneficial, a corporate approach to internal communications would also be very beneficial.

Job Offer

£42,126 - £49,856 including London allowance (depending on experience), with excellent benefits
