Position: Control Panel Design Engineer
Location: Radstock, Somerset
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 42 hours per week (08:00-17:00)

THE COMPANY

My client specialise in the installation, servicing and repair of electrical and mechanical installations as well as the design of control panels. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and expanding business with a superb reputation, within the water and waste industry.

THE ROLE

Main Duties:
·To gain client requirements and creating specifications for projects; creating solutions.
·To work alongside the Project Manager and Design Manager to ensure that the designs of projects are running to client requirements, and are compliant with regulations.
·To produce designs in accordance with the design specification through technical innovation
·To ensure the integrity of the design through:
otechnical design calculations
omaterial research and awareness of modern production techniques
ocost effectiveness
·To produce all necessary production and assembly drawings, using 2D drawing CAD system
·To be aware of the necessary standards relating to the environment
·To undertake site and client visits as required
·To communicate accurately with other stakeholders throughout the project from concept through to completion.
·To Liaise with the end client to ensure that they have a full understanding of the progress of the project.

The role will also include an element of project engineering, which will include the following duties:

* Working with design teams to coordinate the completion of designs
* Ensuring client deadlines are met
* Receiving and issuing design and contract related documents
* Liaising with design teams and clients to ensure all documentation and information is received and chased where necessary


THE REQUIREMENTS

*Electrical Design experience
*Experience in the Water and Waste industry is desirable
*Experience with a range of design software including Siemens and PLCs
*Experience with Promis.e is beneficial
*Design of Schematics, Control Panel Layouts essential
