European Product Stewardship Leader - Germany

Perpetual Partnerships are pleased to be representing one of the world's foremost names when it comes to the development of high-performance silicones and resins, with a presence in more than 15 countries worldwide. They are now looking to bring into their Management Team a Product Stewardship Leader to oversee their European operations.

This role is highly visible within the organisation, reporting to the Global Director for Product Stewardship. The successful candidate will have ownership and accountability for establishing and implementing the organisations strategy for meeting regional compliance needs.

The successful candidate will oversee a team of five product stewardship professionals and share working responsibility for compliance under REACH.


The Role:

  • You will participate in the development of the company's Global Product Stewardship strategy and implementation of new processes

  • Work closely with the research and development, supply chain and production departments in order to smoothly introduce and implement defined measures across Europe

  • Ensure product registrations and reports within the EU, including REACH, CLP and EU compliance

  • Direct implementation of REACH registrations with all associated steps, including support for non-EU customers

  • You will be the interface to the customer with questions about ingredients, introduction and development of new products and strategic risk assessments

  • Advise and inform all executives about new policies and developments in the region

  • Support or participation in regional and / or global advocacy

Competencies

  • Proven experience consulting and troubleshooting to develop and drive sound resolution of product regulatory issues.

  • Ability to effectively work and lead cross-functional, international teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization (up, down, laterally)

  • Customer focused.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Successfully completed studies in natural sciences (toxicology, biology or chemistry) or comparable qualification

  • 10 years experience in the chemical industry

  • Sound knowledge of SAP EHS

  • 5 years experience in interface management or working in cross-functional teams is desirable

  • Fluency in German and English (Interviews in English)

  • Willingness to travel internationally (about 20%)
