Supplier Development & Technical Assistance

Main Responsibilities & Tasks:
1.On Site rapid response to correct & assist Supplier parts delivery (short term resolution)
*Assess actual situation at Supplier & clearly identify operational improvements required
*Ensure critical parts supply for daily production & repair car based on critical shortages
*Develop & implement immediate parts supply recovery plan with the Supplier
*Understand root cause & identify improvement actions to prevent recurrence
*Develop long term improvement plan to back to stable supply
*Follow up Supplier performance to ensure actual improvement progression
2.Assess Suppliers to develop & implement long term improvement plans to ensure stable & consistent supply (risk reduction)
*Assess Supplier operational performance against standard criteria (comparing against actual KPI's) to determine actions to improve to ensure stable & consistent supply
*Develop & implement mutual Supplier improvement plan
*Regularly follow up with Supplier to ensure actual improvement
3.Plan & verify readiness for major changes (volume increase, supply changes, etc)
*Develop & implement specific action plan with related Supplier
*Confirm progress & readiness prior to implementation of change point, ensuring no impact to production
4.Assist in new model parts maturation reflecting experience from current production
5.Liaise with other related functions to draw on necessary support, as required
6.Any other related tasks to maintain or improve overall Supplier performance.

Key Performance Indicators
*Supplier Quality & Delivery performance KPI's

Qualification & Experience:
*Experience in Supplier Assessment & Development and/or Technical Assistance
*Strong manufacturing background to be able to assess Supplier operations
*Six sigma green belt trained or equivalent
*Methodical & strong problem solving techniques
*High attention to detail with strong planning & organising competency
*An awareness of the client's Production System / Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage.
*Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, together with the ability to work accurately and efficiently, taking resourceful action during periods of considerable pressure.
*Computer Literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential.
*Degree or Higher diploma qualified or equivalent preferable.
