Here at Howells Solutions we are working for a large UK contractor who are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Technical Services Specialist to help support the national IT infrastructure team.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Infrastructure - lead in the design, implementation, support, monitoring and management of the IT infrastructure.
  • Advanced desk and branch based support to end users, provide 3rd line support to other support teams within the company to act as internal escalation point for IT support function and liaison with service providers to provide service resolution to end users.
  • Maintaining and updating the logical, technical design and procedures for the infrastructure including networks, telephony and hardware.
  • Provide the technical lead for pilot programmes for infrastructure upgrades and refreshes.
  • Recommending to the IT Management Team possible places for service improvement by evaluating and recommending new products and services.
  • Liaison with service providers for the capacity monitoring and management of the infrastructure resources, to include link bandwidth, host capacity, storage performance to include IOPS and capacity.

  • Infrastructure: (WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi) administration, implementation, monitoring and support
  • Backup management and support
  • Active Directory: Administration and Support
  • Group Policy: Administration and Support
  • Exchange 2010/2016: Administration and Support
  • Desktop and Application build management
  • Azure & Office 365
  • Citrix & VDI Administration
  • Active Directory Federation Services
  • Telephony UC&C Administration - ( e.g. Mitel / Lync)
  • Experience of working within a compliance driven environment
  • Experience of ServiceNow service desk

This is a full time permanent role for which you will receive a competitive salary plus benefits. This role will involve travel within the UK and requires a full UK Driving Licence.
