Test technician to support and provide technical capability for the preparation of vehicles, test rigs, component test, instrumentation and equipment for vehicle testing as required to enable vehicle research and development, including the execution of appropriate tests following instruction and supervision.

Swindon (commutable from Reading, Oxford, Andover, Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester)
£25-30k

Test technician to support and provide technical capability for the preparation of vehicles, test rigs, component test, instrumentation and equipment for vehicle testing as required to enable vehicle research and development, including the execution of appropriate tests following instruction and supervision.

Responsibilities:
" To work closely with vehicle dynamic test engineers to safely and meticulously prepare vehicles for testing.
" Install various instrumentation systems for the measurement of key vehicle parameters used during testing and analysis of vehicle performance.
" Install and replace parts to meet required vehicle specifications for testing.
" Conduct regular vehicle safety checks, maintenance and tyre changes.
" Contribute to good workplace housekeeping and maintain good health and safety practices.
" Preparation of vehicles prior to testing, including tyre and brake bedding.
" Where appropriate conducts testing, & supply data to responsible engineer for analysis.
" Support workshop coordinator in the management, maintenance and calibration of workshop and test equipment.

Experience:
" Automotive Maintenance and Repair NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience
" A good understanding of vehicle systems including suspension, steering, body, interior and electrical.
" A professional attitude with a keen attention to detail is required.
" Prior experience with vehicle and test instrumentation would be desirable.
" Proactive approach demonstrating a high level of self-motivation to deliver results.
" A flexible attitude and the ability to be responsive to change.
" Travel within the UK and overseas will be required.
" A team player, able to build strong relationships and trust across cultures.
" Full driving licence.
