A world leading US Investment Bank has recently engaged with Robert Walters to deliver market leading Algorithmic trading resources to the business to support Risk management activities. As such, my team is currently seeking conversations with skilled Risk & Control specialists, those with proven quantitative abilities and experience in Front Office model validation/ assurance/ creation and stress testing.

This vacancy is Market Risk focused and sit as part of a function which is responsible for the independent identification, analysis, reporting and escalation of all Market, Credit and Operational Risk exposures arising from UK business activity. There will be strong focus on Equity Derivatives trading in particular (Algorithmic/ high Frequency trading) but the function/ mandate for delivery encompass all asset classes. Acting independently of business management,. This position will provide rigour, challenge and governance through the identification of measures, monitoring of processes , advisory work and the design/ delivery of necessary controls. This position reports directly to the banks' Head of Market Risk eTrading.

Responsibilities Include:

* Review and analysis of algorithms, including controls and testing methods
* Work with Model Risk Management department certifying algorithms
* Design, development and maintenance of any application and reporting tools necessary to
* evidence the governance/ validity of Algorithms
* Implementation of governance and controls for Market Risk
* Review the risks associated with the trade flow through the multi-layered Trade Plant
* including manual and automated order generation, algorithm and router performance,
* conducting real-time Market Risk analysis using tools such as portfolio Greeks, stress
* testing, liquidity analysis, and Basel capital measures such as VaR, Stressed VaR, IRC, and CRM etc.
* Oversight of trading limits and controls
* Work directly with a diverse set of stakeholders including: Sales and Trading Business Units, Quantitative Strategists, Business Unit Risk Management, Compliance, Technology and Operations

Qualifications and required skill set:

* Previous experience in a role with direct exposure to electronic trading (Trading Systems Support, Technology, QA, Operations, etc.)
* Experience with electronic trading technologies, experience in algorithm development, including FIX messaging, market micro-structure, market data and regulation
* Proficiency with a variety of IT applications as well as a good understanding of programming is advantageous
* An excellent academic background, including an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline, such as economics, finance, sciences or engineering
* Additional qualifications, such as an FRM, would also be looked upon favourably
