-A truly unique and exciting commercial accounting opportunity for a highly ambitious and driven part qualified accountant to join a fast growing services business based in Runcorn.-

The ability to analyse data, monitor variances, identify trends and recommend positive commercial outcomes under time pressure will be vital for the successful candidate. In addition, you will be required to assist in all month end procedures including P&L preparation, forecasting and posting of accruals and prepayments.

Your role will include the following;

- Control and maintenance of accruals and prepayments for P&Ls
- Assist in all aspects of revenue and cost trend analysis, with a specific focus around positive commercial outcomes
- Producing KPIs for weekly Management calls
- Attend monthly management accounts reviews and feedback on any items raised, with the support of the Divisional Controller
- Assist with annual forecasting, year-end reconciliations and budgetary processes
- Secondary approving and coding of invoices
- Coding and authorising cheque requisitions and expense
- Manage the customer contract database
- Assistance to auditors
- Assistance with central finance team queries
- Ad-hoc reporting and project requirements

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

- Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with the confidence to recommend actions to management
- Strong stakeholder management and prioritisation of workload
- Providing creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial results
- Ability to fit into a small team within a standalone business unit

Qualifications and Competencies

- Role would suit an ambitious part-qualified accountant with a strong attention to detail and excellent time management
- Prior experience of journal posting and maintaining accruals and prepayments would be beneficial, but more beneficial would be experience in
- The ability to convey sometimes complex financial information to non-financial colleagues is essential, as is maintaining a strong working relationship with the operational team
- Strong Excel skills are required
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Written and verbal communication skills, as well as the confidence to work with team members in different locations
- Some travel will be required, but not extensively
