My client is seeking an experienced DBA to join their expanding team in Leeds. In this role you will be responsible for the management of the performance of systems and services (including hardware, software and network) in relation to their contribution to business performance.

The provision of application maintenance and support services, both to users of the systems and to service delivery functions investigating and resolving issues.

The specification, design and maintenance of mechanisms for storage and access to both structured and unstructured information, in support of business information needs.

Management of the installation, testing, implementation or decommissioning and removal of equipment, hardware and appropriate software in accordance with agreed standards ensuring these are controlled and there is effective handover to operations and the user community.

  • Ability to provide authoritative advice and guidance on Information assurance strategies to manage the identified risk.
  • Ability to applies and maintain specific security controls as required by organisational policy
  • Has the ability to provide input to the service continuity planning process and implements resulting plans.
  • Ability to develop and maintain specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modelling techniques and design principles and possesses a detailed knowledge of database architectures, software and facilities.
  • Ability to design, code, test, correct, and document simple programs, and assist in the implementation of software which forms part of a properly engineered information or communications system.
  • Ability to define test requirements for smaller projects and can create test scripts and supporting data, working to the specifications provided.
  • Ability to undertake routine installations and de-installations of items of hardware and/or software.
  • Ability to develop, document and implement changes based on requests for change and apply change control procedures.
