As the Financial Risk Manager for this fast growing Challenger Bank based in the London Docklands, you will be responsible for the assessment, monitoring and maintenance of all financial risks related information across Credit, Capital, Liquidity, Currency & Interest Rate risks.

Reporting into the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, you will review and maintain the relevant risk frameworks and will be required to produce relevant risk management reports. The job holder will develop and maintain risk models and will be responsible for producing and reviewing detailed risk policies as well as ensuring all counterparty files are completed and include adequate credit risk analysis.

Key to the success in this role is the ability to provide:

- Country credit analysis

Responsibilities:

General

- Scope and plan together with the Chief Risk &Compliance Officer, the financial risks approach, ensuring an adequate second line of defence with regard to coverage of all risks and documentation needs.
- Liaise with accounting and finance staff members to identify and monitor all financial risks.
- Prepare MI for all financial risks, including reports for senior management and committees.
- Develop and implement risk policies and procedures.
- Be an active team member of the risk department, supporting the implementation of a risk based culture within the Bank.

Risk

- Monitor the Bank`s financial risk exposure and risk profile to ensure that internal and regulatory limits/tolerances are not breached.
- Ensure correct implementation of second line of defence for credit, capital, liquidity, currency and interest rate risks.
- Review and ensure adequacy of liquidity and credit stress tests.
- Review and maintain the credit grading model for the Bank.
- Liaise with finance to ensure impairment calculations are in line with best practices.
- Support the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer on ICAAP and ILAAP reviews. Challenge stress tests and ICAAP/ILAAP assumptions.
- Monitor liquidity, currency and interest rate metrics, providing the CR&CO with the adequate level of management information.
- Perform credit analysis for all of the Bank`s counterparties, ensuring completeness of files and on-time reviews.
- Support the product development process through the evaluation of risks associated with new products and services, by working collaboratively with other areas of the Bank to ensure new business opportunities are developed and taken.
- Identify best approach to organise the financial risk area, including identifying area goals with the CR&CO.
- Ensure workflows are prioritised to achieve timely circulation of information in order to facilitate efficient decision-making.
- Complete succinct, accurate and well-articulated customer/portfolio credit analysis, market risk trends and identification of impacts to the Bank.
- Take a proactive approach using your judgement and experience in recognising early warning financial risk detection.

Skills & Experience:

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the UK regulatory environment with specific expertise in credit, market and capital risks.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of the credit administration processes, including credit analysis, credit models and preparation of management/committees information.
- Working knowledge of simple currency and interest rate risks hedging mechanism, namely in what relates to measurement and reporting.
- Strong numeric skills with a deep understanding of risk management methodologies, both quantitative and qualitative.
- Excellent research, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Strong and persuasive inter-personal skills with strong written and verbal skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
- High attention to detail.
- Strict Work ethics.
- A Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience required - A Master`s degree or other higher level professional qualification would be preferred.
