Zodiac specialises in the day to day management of over 100 commercial ships including Bulk Carriers, Container Ships, Oil Tankers, Chemical Tankers, LPG Tankers and Car Carriers.

We are currently recruiting for a Training Administrator to work within our Crew Department.

Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Head of Crew and Training Manager in administering and coordinating the training initiatives across our fleet. As well as ensuring that all seafarers on board UK flagged vessels have the correct documents on board. From applying for each document and monitoring its progress right through to sending the documents to the seafarer either at the manning agent or on the vessel.

Primary Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

- Assisting the Deputy Head of Crew and Training Manager with the development of Seagull Training.
- Responding to all queries from vessels relating to Seagull.
- Monitoring on board Seagull training.
- Monitoring UK CRA expires, chasing MCA for documents applied for and arranging Flag documents to be sent to seafarers and vessels.
- Arranging UKLAP exams.
- Applying for GMDSS applications and monitoring GMDSS expiries, chasing MCA for documents applied for and arranging GMDSS documents to be sent to seafarers and vessels.
- Support the Deputy Head of Crew and Training Manager in the planning, processing and evaluation of the UK Cadet Training Program so as to meet company objectives.
- Liaise with Manning Offices to collate crew joining expenses.
- Ensure that all documents, licenses, certificates, books are accurately updated in the Crewing system and spreadsheets.
- Manage incoming communication (including emails, messages and telephone queries) and draft or transcribe appropriate replies where necessary.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping (STCW) for Seafarers is a requirement for this role.
- Knowledge of key regulations - MARPOL, SOLAS and MLC.
- Previous experience of Seagull training would be advantageous.
- A shipping related degree.
- Demonstrated experience within a similar role within a Crew, Training or HR Department.
- Seafaring experience would be an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to focus on relevant information.
- Proven analytical skills together with the ability to make and support decisions with sound reasoning and judgement.
- Strong IT skills and advanced knowledge and proven ability in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
