Dynamic IT 1st Line Support Technician to join friendly team at world leading industrial company in Bristol

Initially a 6 month Fixed Term Contract (potential to go permanent) £18k to £20k p.a. + benefits

The Role

Due to continued growth and success of the business, we are on the lookout for an enthusiastic 1st Line IT Support Technician to join our Infrastructure team on a fixed-term basis. In this role, you will provide first line support across all site infrastructure and associated systems to ensure continuity of production within this industrial facility. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • answering and logging IT issues
  • resolution of first line issues for end users within office and production site
  • escalating issues to outsourced IT support and tracking progress with system fixes
  • liaising with third party suppliers to assist with system fixes and improvements
  • writing user guides, IT documentation and supporting end users with training
  • researching and recommending IT solutions for new business requirements

This role provides the opportunity to work on an industrial site covering a broad range of tasks and working face to face with a wide variety of teams and end users. Not only is the position varied and challenging, but you'll also be joining a fun and friendly team.

The Person

Ideally with some experience within an industrial, office or business environment, you will have some previous exposure to first line support activities including Microsoft Windows 7, 8 and 10, desktop environments, server infrastructure and active directory. With great communication and interpersonal skills, you will enjoy using your own initiative to resolve issues, thriving in providing excellent service to your end users. With an enthusiastic 'can-do' approach and a willingness to learn and develop new ideas, you will also ideally have a relevant qualification and some experience of mobile technology, iOS solutions and ideally network security principals, however these aren't essential requirements.
