This role is focussed on developing better and more sophisticated insight for our client through gathering and synthesising relevant data, turning this data into insight, proactively communicating and translating the insight into action.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and manage the relationship with external data providers to ensure the availability of the right data to drive action
  • Drive the business's understanding of their competitors and the competitive landscape they operate in, and take responsibility for stress testing their plans under a number of different competitive scenarios
  • Provide challenge in the internal planning process based on market insights and trends
  • Monitor and report on consumer behaviour and attitude trends within the food and related markets and identify and communicate the implications of such trends for the organisation
  • Work with AB Sugar team to ensure synergy of work and to challenge their own assumptions/insight
  • Proactively offer information and insight to relevant stakeholders related to ad hoc news e.g. competitor/customer announcements, financial results, EU Commission announcements etc. to ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Ensure that the Commercial team are well informed and equipped with all relevant information and understanding to deliver appropriate and consistent messages to customers
  • Lead in the provision of proactive information to the wider business to improve awareness of their market and competitive environment

What our client is looking for:

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Degree level education (or equivalent) and/or significant experience in a commercially focussed role
  • Experience in the use of data warehouses
  • Proven experience of working in a commercial environment
  • Proven experience of producing insight from multiple data sets
  • High degree of commercial acumen

  • Ability to manage multiple topics and respond quickly to changing priorities

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across multiple organisational levels and functions both internal and external

Decision Making:

  • The post will have access to a plethora of market data and must determine the relevance of this information for their business consumption
  • Advice is given based on the interpretation of market and customer data and contributes to the overall strategic decision making
