Job Summary

Alliance Healthcare is a leading distributor and wholesaler of pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare products, serving over 16,200 pharmacies, hospitals and dispensing doctors throughout the UK on a twice daily basis.

This role is a key position within the branded medical team responsible for the buying of branded medical products for the Alliance Healthcare group. The candidate will be able to build strong relationships both internally and with external branded medical supplier clients to maximise partnership opportunities and commercial profitability for the branded medical category.

Key responsibilities:

· Account manage a portfolio of manufacturers and develop and maintain key relationships with them

· Identify opportunities to drive incremental increases in revenue, margin and market share, including providing support to the client services team for any managed distribution agreements

· Ensure the optimum stocked range within the branded medical category. Responsible for negotiating all commercial aspects of bringing products to market

· Work closely with other internal buying teams to negotiate best deal for group profitability

· Provide analysis and report on market trends in order to assist with budgeting and forecasting.

You will:

· Have previous account management and / or buying experience

· Have a strong commercial acumen

· Be advanced in the use of excel, Pivot tables and V look-ups

· Be able to negotiate with and influence people both internally and externally

· Possess excellent numeric and analytical skills

· Have the ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally

· Previous buying experience in a pharmaceutical background is advantageous but not essential as full training is provided
