Anthony Cole Associates are proud to be once again working with a specialised professional service firm in helping them find a talented Credit Controller to join their team for an initial 3-6 month period to start ASAP. The primary function of this role is to focus on ensuring that cash is received for outstanding invoices that are due in order to reduce the DSO for Accounts Receivables and ultimately improve cash flow.

Key Responsibilities of the Credit Controller:

Credit Control

  • Ensure clients payment is received in good time
  • Send monthly statement of accounts to clients
  • Contact clients or pursue their AP department when payment is overdue
  • Negotiate and set up of re-payment plans
  • Allocate cash daily
  • Report on Work in Progress and Accounts Receivable balances, including receipts and unallocated cash
  • Work closely with the rest of the finance team and the wider business to reduce Days Sales Outstanding
  • Work on plan for providing rewards for early payers (early payment discount) and charging those who pay late (interest)
  • Assist with internal and external audits and provide information when requested

Key Skills & Competencies of the Credit Controller:

  • Experience of time and expenses billing software - PeopleSoft is considered a significant advantage
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Ability to manage large amounts of data
  • Numerate, with a keen eye for detail
  • Well-organized approach to work, ability to prioritize tasks
  • Good communication skills and professional attitude
  • Team player, with the ability to effectively interact with other departments including project teams, legal counsel, finance and business teams
  • Ability to solve problems of moderate complexity
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Frequently communicate with clients and co-workers and must be able to share information effectively
  • Proactive, self-starter with a “can do” attitude
To be considered for this role, you will have at least 2 years relevant experience working as a Credit Controller preferably within a consulting or professional services company. You will be professional and have excellent communication skills and phone manner. You will also have strong system skills including advanced Excel and ideally some PeopleSoft experience.
