Our client, a growing, Birmingham-based, challenger bank is looking for a Senior Marketing Manager, Product & Propositions to contribute to the growth strategy for 2018 and beyond. This high-profile role will be part of a small team and report directly to the Head of Strategic Marketing. Both Market and Business pressures dictate a real need for flexibility.

Similar previous marketing and product development experience in a bank is essential together with a demonstrable understanding of bank asset and liabilities management

Key responsibilities

  • The Senior Manager of Product and Propositions will take ownership and delivery of customer products and propositions for the bank, based on market research, and own the product roadmaps and propositional strategy and delivery
  • Map customer journeys from product awareness to consideration and purpose, to ensure appropriate levels of customer service and product information and communications are provided per touchpoint into a cohesive customer experience
  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of products and propositions to inform business strategy, including accountability for quality of products
  • Lead customer acquisition and retention strategies and support development of the brand strategy with compelling propositions and USPs
  • Own the bank's channel management strategy with input from the Head of Transformation, pricing policy, responsible for the income line of the bank, and the bank's product and propositions lifecycle management process, exercising appropriate governance
  • Own and manage conduct risk and compliance in relation to products and propositions

Knowledge requirements

  • Strong knowledge of product development lifecycle and conduct risk
  • Customer segmentation and targeting experience
  • Good grasp of emerging / innovative propositional trends (e.g. Open Banking)
  • Ability to develop business cases and apply 'critical thinking'
  • Experience in customer acquisition strategy development
  • Ability to build and translate compelling customer propositions into the market
  • Pricing development and management experience
  • Experience of applying Operational and Compliance Risk frameworks to products and propositions

Professional qualifications

Professional Marketing Qualifications or Marketing-related degree (Essential)
