AskJules are agents for university students with physical disabilities who choose to employ Personal Assistants to provide their student support and personal care.

Start: January 2018 in Nottingham

Pay: £525.00 per week worked (Live in 24/7. One week on, one week off)

About Our Client:

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a twenty-two year old female student, who will be studying Neuroscience at Nottingham University this academic year. She has Cerebral Palsy resulting in SpasticDiplegia and muteness.

*Has 1 vacancy for a live in Personal Assistants to join her team.

*Amy-Joy will be exploring the Nottingham student life.

*Naturally gregarious, but can have episodes of quiet contemplation.

*Amy-Joy is a conscientious and artistic individual. When her head is not in books, she savours walks, photography and baking.

About the Job:

The job would be ideal for a female graduate with similar interests. No care experience is needed as all training will be given.

This is a great opportunity to really make a difference to our client both academically and socially. Your role will be to provide all aspects of support (personal, academic and social) to enable our client to reach her potential.

You will be required to:

Accompany our client to and from halls at Nottingham University.

Plan everything University related with our client.

Attend lectures (note taking).

Provide personal care.

Besides University, you will be required to cook and clean in the shared accommodation. Treat our client as you would like to be treated yourself.

Initially, accompany her to events.

Our client would like to live as any other student does at University and value someone who considerately promotes her independence. Our client appreciates her own space so between you a routine can be agreed together.

Rate of Pay:

*£525.00 per week worked.

*One week Live-In /One week off.

*Free accommodation when on shift.

Skills required for this job:

*A recent graduate.

*The ability to quickly alternate between positions (personal care, note taker, scribe and proof-reader).

*Sharp knowledge of the Sciences (Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry).

*A mature and professionally responsible attitude. Tact, discretion, caring and excellent organisational skills are also the key to this role’s success.

*Since our client is mute, she expects you to use your own initiative.

*All rounded individual: patient, understanding, enthusiastic, reliable. ‘A big sister’ role.

*Clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.

*Punctual in all aspects of work.

You must be able to respect our client's privacy and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.
