Sales & Marketing Manager – Premium Outdoor Retail, Edinburgh

They import, market and sell an extensive range of upmarket Scandinavian outdoor clothing and apparel which is functional, skilfully designed, and beautifully reflects the unique culture of the country of origin. With a strong emphasis on providing premium clothing and accessories from esteemed brands, this innovative and growing business is head quartered here in Edinburgh but already has a UK wide network of stores and ambitious plans to expand their store portfolio in 2018 and beyond.

The role of Sales & Marketing Manager is an all-encompassing and challenging commercial remit that includes helping shape the commercial strategy of the business, rising brand awareness and achieving greater market penetration. At the core of this challenging role you will ultimately be responsible for driving, growing and developing the retail and online sales proposition.

This is a rare opportunity to secure a senior commercial role within a fantastic owner managed brand/business and one that offers the post holder a fabulous opportunity to be part of the exciting evolution of an emerging challenger brand.

Responsibilities for this Sales/Business Manager includes:

·Day to day management and operational support to a team of committed and highly talented retail store managers & professionals

·Working in tandem with the SMT (senior management team) to Drive the overall strategic direction and effectiveness of the brand proposition across omni-channel routes to market

·Develop and lead seasonal projects and owning the retail marketing activity calendar. Seeing campaigns through from concept design to execution, ensuring a consistent brand image and message always

·To ensure that the annual marketing fund is spent effectively and within agreed parameters

·To lead, coach, grow and develop the in-house marketing function

·Store portfolio development; acquisition and opening program delivery

·New product / proposition development and business development activity

·Frequent travel to UK stores and relevant European trade shows when required

Candidates who can demonstrate the following are invited to apply:

·Commercial sales & marketing retail experience gained within a developing brand and/or premium textile environment

·Brand development and operational responsibility working with premium products/services

·Able to demonstrate a strong track record of designing and executing effective marketing campaigns that have generated significant ROI

·Social media and digital marketing skills - desired but not essential

·Operationally effective, organised and highly effective when working to deadlines and under pressure

·Self-motivated, resilient and committed to exceeding expectations

·Personality in spades!

·Degree educated – desired but not essential


This is a rare and not to be missed opportunity and as such comes with a fantastic basic salary very much dependant on personal experience; £30,000 – 37,000 DOE
