New Product Development Manager
Royston, Switzerland or Germany
£50,000 - £60,000 per year

Main Purpose Of The Job:

New Product Development Manager required to deliver the programme of technical projects in the field of advanced industrial equipment. The role shall manage a team of Project Engineers and Product Designers to deliver future ranges of products and sub-systems. The role has overall responsibility to achieve project timelines, costs, and quality. The role shall have 6-7 direct reports and manage matrix project teams of up to 12 people.

Key Accountabilities:

* Lead the programme of multiple concurrent product development projects in line with the company's formal New Product Development system
* Work closely with the Product Management Head to develop the strategy for new products
* Work closely with the R&D Head to industrialise and productionise emerging technologies
* Develop and maintain strict project plans, timing plans, cost plans and resource plans for each project
* Work alongside the Marketing team to assist with development of sales and promotional material related to the products
* Work closely with the Engineering Manager, Operations Manager and Quality Manager to ensure smooth introduction of new products and sub-systems into production
* Lead formal project Stage Gate reviews, presenting to senior management
* Interact with Finance, Quality and Service teams on projects to ensure their deliverables are completed
* Act as site champion and trainer for the company's formal New Product Development system
* Manage project and technical risks and issues
* Approve and monitor design verification and production validation plans
* Provide support to the current product portfolio when engineering changes are requested or when issues are identified
* Identify solutions to project blocker
* Prioritise and manage project resources to resolve issues and conflicts
* Lead weekly Programme Review Meeting focusing on timely delivery of actions and tasks.

Key Experiences

* Qualified to degree level in an engineering discipline
* Previous experience managing a formal stage product development method
* Significant experience delivering successful products to market
* Experience of product testing
* Ideally come from a formal product development background
