Customer Marketing Manager

£35,000 - £45,000 plus excellent benefits

South Manchester

The primary purpose of the Customer Marketing Manager is to drive sales across their existing products so that the volume and targets are achieved. The Customer Marketing Manager also has brand responsibility for a specific product which is the UK’s No.1 product in it's field. This fantastic business has ambitious growth plans so will bring a number of products to market over the next 18 months. This role will also play a key part in the delivery of the marketing activity to support the launch of new products. The Marketing Manager needs to be creative, highly organised and results focused and be able to co-ordinate and motivate a team to deliver a high standard of work in a fast paced environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • To manage the Marketing calendars and media plans for all brands to ensure that all work is delivered to the required deadlines
  • To monitor and report on Marketing campaign performance for all brands and deliver regular reports to the Senior Marketing Manager
  • Responsible for planning and delivering all product marketing activity including the following; email campaigns, landing pages, website updates, adverts, inserts, digital display adverts and partner collateral
  • Writing clear and precise creative briefs for Design and IT
  • Writing compelling and persuasive advertising copy for a variety of media, including full page print adverts, inserts, digital banners and email
  • Working collaboratively with the Lead Designer to ensure the creative workflow is being managed seamlessly through the creative studio and advertising and campaign deadlines are met
  • Responsible for signing off all adverts, email campaigns, landing pages and collateral across all brands before these are sent to print or launched
  • Responsible for delivery of marketing activity for new product launches, including advertising and email campaigns as required
  • Responsible for the management of the media agency who negotiate and buy advertising space on our behalf, including briefing in advertising budgets, targets and signing off finalised media spend across all brands
  • Day to day management of two direct reports who will be responsible for the tactical delivery of the media schedule and advertising campaigns. Responsibilities will include managing their weekly deliverables and coaching them to deliver highly quality, powerful creative
  • Co-ordination of competitor monitoring, ensuring that the team are reviewing competitor activity weekly and producing a monthly slide deck which is presented to the marketing team and circulated with senior management

Person Specification

  • Experience of working at Marketing Manager or Account Director level in a fast paced in-house or agency environment
  • Able to manage and deliver a wide range of projects and used to prioritising a large workload
  • Able to co-ordinate and motivate a team to deliver a high standard of work
  • Experience in digital marketing, particularly email marketing
  • Experience in relationship building with key media partners and trade partners
  • Excellent creative and copywriting and assessment skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent command of English language – grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and work with other departments (IT, Design, Call Centre) to deliver projects to agreed deadlines
  • Ability to manage the demands of different stakeholders (Management team, IT, Call Centre)
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as within a team
  • Experience of managing external suppliers and agencies
  • Experience of launching and managing brands or products
