We are currently recruiting for a passionate Category Executive, with previous FMCG experience, working for a large-scale, midlands-based distributor.

The Role

As part of the new business function, the role will cover a specific channel (e.g wholesale) in which to review sales data and provide insights to improve sales strategy and increase new business. This is not just an analyst position, with a significant amount of client & internal presenting of findings very much key to the role.

The Category Executive must be extremely proactive and driven, with a meticulous attention to detail, comfortable and working with data, while also exhibiting first-class verbal communication and presentation skills

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Building long-term relationships current and prospective customers, as well as established suppliersObtaining and analysing market sales data, developing insights & recommendationsResponsibility for retailer-specific category plans and projects, as well as assisting manager with implementing with key retailersBuilding and maintaining Planograms on bespoke company software, to assist in maximising sales opportunitiesLiaising with brand partners regarding their strategyManage relevant category content on websites & via trade publications to generate further PRSkills & Experience

Ability & experience of transforming data into insights from IRI/Nielsen/Kantar dataWorking knowledge of merchandising softwareAn interest / some experience of Marketing/PR would be highly desirable but not essentialStrong IT skills, (Excel & Powerpoint essential)Excellent relationship-builderHighly self-driven & good initiativeGood presentation skillsFull UK driving licenseIf you do not receive an initial reply within three working days, you can unfortunately, consider your application unsuccessful
