The successful candidate will have the relevant skills and experience specified below for this short term temporary contract (3 months) based in London. This assignment sits inside of IR35.
Job Description:Apply knowledge in human factors, ethnography, and the user-centred design process to product and service design in an iterative development environment. Use findings of user data to work closely with designers and analysts to iterate the developing service. Manage business relations with usability and market research agencies to support necessary research processes. Experience in: taking a lead User Researcher role within a team, setting research direction and mentoring junior research colleagues; managing team dynamics and holding sufficient authority to effectively challenge points of design without alienating individuals; working within an agile project environment, and maintaining effective performance in difficult and challenging circumstances; quantitative research methodologies. Proven experience of gathering user requirements for web based services; managing, executing and analysing usability test and research sessions; working in an agile development environment with User Experience teams, designers and developers to create new digital products and services; audience modelling and developing design personas. Degree in HCI/Usability/Cognitive Psychology/Market Research or related field. Experience across web content, tools and transactional services, especially those with complex user journeys. Experience within a research and digital environment.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:? Taking a lead role in shaping a coherent user research programme of work for the project; delivering that user research directly and through the efforts of other user research staff ? Organising and managing a small user research team and building their capabilities ? planning, designing and conducting user research sessions including interviewing, guerrilla/pop-up testing and moderating usability testing sessions. capturing and documenting the needs of users in a consistent and robust way in order to help ensure that user needs are fully understood in the design and development of the solutions; ? presenting findings and related design/business recommendations and customer insights to senior decision makers
Experience Required:• A positive set of experiences and capabilities in user research across different projects • A good understanding of the work of our organisation across its different teams and a strong appreciation of how knowledge management helps support our work; • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to quickly develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative evidence; • A confident approach in engaging and communicating with teams and individuals along with good written and presentation skills; • A strong commitment to new ways of working and the benefits of using digital approaches to improve services • The ability to work with others in a team in a fast paced project environment in order to deliver to demanding deadlines;

The lower pay rate advertised in this job description is the highest PAYE daily pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to. The higher pay rate advertised in this job description is the highest daily Umbrella Company pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to.
