The Co-op is changing. And it's changing fast. We've made a massive investment in growing our customer offer over the last few years. And our federal retail trading services (FRTS) team have a huge role to play in making sure our society partners receive the products and ranges they need to serve all our customers across the UK. Now we're looking for an ambitious product manager to join us and own the relationship between Co-op and our societies. As our product manager at the Co-op, it'll be up to you to make sure societies are represented and always receive the same service as our 2,500+ food stores across the UK. We'll look to you to strengthen the link and manage the relationship between the Co-op and independent societies. You'll make sure they receive our products and have a say in promotional and seasonal stock planning. It's a big job with lots of responsibility. And it's also a unique opportunity to build your profile and shape the way we do business.

What you'll do:

* travel and visit society partners as and when needed

* represent societies in cross-functional meetings and seasonal planning meetings

* make sure societies always get the right stock and promotional plans

* manage multiple priorities for the constant seasonal critical path; Christmas, Easter, spring, summer, and autumn campaigns

* link into projects to make sure changes work for our societies too

* work with society stakeholders , buyers and internal planning teams to manage plan reviews

* make sure internal processes fulfil the needs of societies

* collect feedback from societies to understand what works well and what needs improving on

* track data and take a high level view of financial performance

* analyse insight and feedback from both societies and suppliers to inform decisions, work out where issues lie, fix and communicate both sides

To be successful, you'll have solid experience in a similar retail role, along with the confidence to challenge and hold your own. You'll be able to spot opportunities for improvement, managing multiple priorities and bridging the gap between the Co-op and societies. You'll be experienced in building and managing meaningful relationships with all kinds of people at all levels, doing what's right for our customers, members, and colleagues. And if you have what it takes to rise to the challenge every time, you'll thrive in this fast paced and collaborative role.

* you're able to build and manage meaningful relationships with all kinds of people

* you're a great influencer and you're confident handling difficult conversations and adjusting your tone to different audiences and situations

* you're tactful and understand what level of information to provide

* you're able to manage multiple projects at any one time

* you can build a picture from MI and insight analysis

* you're open minded and able to think on your feet

* you have an understanding of product planning, be able to plan, product lifecycle understanding

* you have experience in retail, or you're used to a commercial environment and understand the process from supplier to shelf

* you've worked with societies or similar organisations before, this would be beneficial
